80th anniversary – death of the Scholl siblings

We quote the words of the White Rose Foundation e.V., which commemorate an anniversary. We join in this remembrance.

“Today marks the 80th anniversary of the execution of the defendants in the first White Rose trial. Hans and Sophie Scholl as well as Christoph Probst were brought before the People’s Court presided over by Roland Freisler around 10 a.m. The verdict was handed down just three hours later: death penalty. Yes This had previously been agreed informally between the Munich Gauleiter Giesler and the head of the Reich Chancellery Bormann. At 5 p.m. on the same day, Hans and Sophie Scholl as well as Christoph Probst were beheaded with the guillotine in the Munich-Stadelheim prison.
