Bells of Peace on April 19 – new book about that event

 We have new book for sale, and it is in English too!

Next Tuesday, April 19, the Bells of Peace will ring on 10.55 a.m., it is a tradition in Halle since 2010, when Matthias J. Maurer had the idea because of the peaceful end of World War II and to remember that fact.

Of course this year we will not have an event to be compared with the one we had last year at the 70th anniversary of the end of the war.

But we will have a little surprise, because just a few days ago a new little book got completed.

On about 80 pages the author Matthias J. Maurer explaines the fascinating story of the history of these Bells of Peace in Halle, how the story began in 2010 with a simple idea and what was the way to the big event last year.

The book contains more than 100 photos never published before, some have been taken with historic cameras by one of the so called re-enactors, who played the Timberwolves last year.

It is written in English and Germany so a perfect item for our members and friends abroad.
