Marseillaise - no joke! The national anthem of the “Grande Nation” was written for Count von Luckner, but not for our Felix but for his great-grandfather, Nikolaus.
von Luckner and the Nazis - During the Nazi era Luckner fell into the intrigues of the brown rulers. None other than the Reinhard Heydrich from Halle – the organizer of the so-called “final solution of the Jewish question” intregates him.
Rescue of a Jewess – In 1943, Count Luckner saved the life of a Jewess in bombed Berlin. For this purpose, five trees were planted in honorable memory in Israel.
Federal Cross of Merit - Count Luckner was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 1953.
Nobel Peace Prize - The American Eugene F. McDonald proposed Luckner in 1956 for the Nobel Peace Prize.
